Johnson | February 13, 2022 BIBLE READING PLAN Reading the Bible every day is a great way to grow in your faith. After you read, take time to journal or reflect on these questions: What does it say? What does it mean? How can I live this out today? On our website, under Publications, you can find online resources for reading through the Bible in one year: westwoodcc.org/publications 1. How has God used the shema (Deuteronomy 6:4-5) in your life in the last few weeks? What has he been teaching you about listening, obedience, and love? 2. What surprised you today from Pastor Joel’s sermon on the soul? Explain. 3. How would you describe the difference between the heart and the soul? 4. Take a few minutes and watch this video from The Bible Project that Pastor Joel played during the sermon. Click here to access the video! (Or go to bibleproject.com and search “Soul”) 5. What did you learn from this video that better helps you understand what our soul is and does? 6. Pastor Joel taught that our soul is comprised of our whole being (our will, our mind, and our body), does this change how you previously thought about your soul? How so? 7. On a scale of 1-10, how would you indicate the health of your soul? (The integration of your will, mind, body, etc.). What steps do you need to take, or habits do you need to develop, in order to move towards a healthier soul? Explain. 8. What habits or practices do you notice scripture prescribes for a healthy and integrated soul? What habits or practices do you notice others living out that are inspiring to you? Explain.
