Dad jokes seem to pop up everywhere, including social media. Dad jokes are short jokes that are inoffensive and often puns. Here is an example: A kid says to his dad, “I’m hungry”. The dad says back, “Hi Hungry, I’m Dad”. Share your favorite Dad Joke if you have one. 3. The interview with Tom Lehman took place at the Alexandria Golf Club, an important place for Tom in his life journey as a PGA professional. How has your dad or father figure influenced you in your life journey? 4. We all have an opportunity to leave a legacy with how we live our lives in our faith journey. As we look at Tom Lehman’s story and his influence on his family, reflect on the legacy you would like to be known for in your journey. Share with the group. 5. Tom has received many awards as a professional golfer. Share with the group what you have found the most rewarding in the past year (this doesn’t have to be an award). 6. Read Proverbs 4:1-9 as a group. In these verses Solomon tells how his father, David encouraged him to seek wisdom. Discuss this passage. What nugget of wisdom have you learned from your earthly father? What are you learning in this season from God the Father? 8. Read Timothy 2:6-7 as a group. As followers of Christ who are seeking to be and live like Jesus, discuss how this verse could personally play out in your life. Is there someone in your sphere of influence who is looking to you for encouragement and to be a positive example? Where do you feel that you fall short? 9. Joel asked Tom what disciplines or practices that he committed to as he pursued success on the golf course and in all of life.
