  • Going Where God Calls You: Laurie Pohlad

Her youngest daughter was in fourth grade at the time, so it felt right to help with that age of kids. “I just answered the call,” she says.

  • Westwood's Hope House

    HopeHouse1Hope House, the house located on Westwood’s property, is soon going to be “re-purposed” to meet a growing need in our community–homeless teens. Every night, there are teens in our backyard who do not have a place to stay. Many end up crashing on friends’ couches. Many end up with a much sadder fate by entering in to the dark world of sex trafficking. The need in our community is real.

  • Thank You for Making a Difference at Westwood's Annual Food Pack

    Almost 1,100 people showed up to help pack meals on Saturday, February 28. A total of 225,504 meals were packed as part of the partnership with Feed My Starving Children. Those meals will soon be heading over to Malawi and other part of Africa, where so many people are in need. Thank you for making a difference in the lives of so many!

  • A Small Group Celebrates

    Fab After 50 is a small group lead by Steve and Julie Melbye. This group meets in Minnetonka and is designed for couples and singles aged 50–65. The group recently celebrated together as one of their members, Ron Piersky, dedicated his life to Christ and was baptized during one of the services.

  • Upper Room and Boost at Ignite

    image[2]On February 6-7, twenty-four Upper Room (grade 9) and Boost (grade 6–8) students and leaders went to Ignite. In this 24 hour conference, students had the chance to dig deeper into their faith. The speaker, Greg Speck, focused on three main points: Connecting with God, Living for God, and Staying with God.

  • Feed the Hungry and Challenge Injustice

    During the month of January, Pastor Joel spoke on injustice and ways in which we are called to “act justly and to love mercy and to walk humbly with your God.” The greater need in our world today, and the purpose of the Food Pack, is to not only feed God’s hungry people – “in body and in spirit” – but to also challenge injustice in our world today.

  • Adoption Support and Orphan Care Ministry at Westwood

    tellmystory19rAfter our adopting our youngest son from China in 2012, I’ve felt God calling me back to go and serve in an orphanage, loving on the children and their caregivers there, and being a voice to help tell their stories. This fall, I was overjoyed and humbled to travel back to China to serve in an orphanage for a week. The trip was amazing and further fueled my conviction to build the compassionate outreach part of the orphan care side of the ministry at Westwood.
