  • Equipped by God

    lexi2Lexi heard God’s calling a few years ago as she walked out of a Westwood Bible Study. “I felt a nudging from God to get out of my comfort zone and volunteer in a group of middle school girls on Wednesdays nights. It was crazy for me to even have the idea since I have always worked with early childhood-aged children, and I’m a mother of boys! I felt so far out of my element,” she admits.

  • Upper Room and Boost at Ignite

    image[2]On February 6-7, twenty-four Upper Room (grade 9) and Boost (grade 6–8) students and leaders went to Ignite. In this 24 hour conference, students had the chance to dig deeper into their faith. The speaker, Greg Speck, focused on three main points: Connecting with God, Living for God, and Staying with God.

    High school students and leaders gathered for Movie, Pizza and God Talk on December 19, 2014. After watching the movie Exodus, students engaged in great conversation over fantastic pizza at Davanni's. They discussed Hollywood’s take on the Exodus and how it compares to the biblical account of what really happened.

  • Middle School Students at Camp Shamineau

    campsherm1With a total of 76 students, we had a ton of fun on the Middle School Fall Retreat this year. From Friday night to Sunday morning we got away to Camp Shamineau in Motley Minnesota. The camp had all kinds of fun for our middle school students to have; this included a high ropes course, skate park, and paintball.

This sentiment reflects the heartbeat and vision of the Upper Room ministry–that students would grow to know God more intimately, have greater clarity and ownership of what they believe and why, be connected in life-changing community, and serve God genuinely.

  • Upper Room on the MN Twins Big Screen

    140919UpperRoom8Upper Room students gathered for a night of fun, relationship building, and small group bonding at the Twins game last Friday evening (September 19). They eagerly connected as an Upper Room family while building relationships with each other and group leaders, and passionately singing worship songs at the top of their lungs on the drive to the game.

  • Upper Room Unite Camp Recap

    Ninth grade students had a wonderful week at Unite, growing in their relationships with God through teaching, passionate worship, time alone with God, and community time. They reflected that this was one of the best weeks of their lives as they got to know God better, had incredible fun and grew together to become a family.

  • Mountain Top Experiences With Senior High Students

    Colorado was an amazing experience with 126 students and 21 leaders. This is always a highlight each year for students. Not only is it an incredible experience with lots of exciting adventures, it is an opportunity for students and leaders to get away and connect with God in new ways. And did they ever!
