2018 Christmas Concert
Friday, November 30 at 7:00pm, Saturday, December 1 at 4:00pm AND 7:00pm at Chanhassen Campus

Fill your heart with the sounds of the Christmas season. Westwood’s choir, orchestra and kids choir will be joined by national recording artist Jason Gray. Jason is an award-winning, Christian singer-songwriter whose songs have topped the Christian music charts.

Care with the Love of Jesus Christ
Tuesdays, January 15 - February 19, 6:30–8:30pm, Room B118 at Chanhassen Campus

Discover effective ways to carry the love of Christ into painful circumstances at home or work. This six-week interactive training explores God's call to care and how to recognize and respond to the hurting people we encounter everyday. Topics include: listening, feelings, boundaries, grief and loss, and prayer.

Babies bring so much joy to the life of a family and, whether through birth or adoption, the arrival of a little one is certainly cause to celebrate! Here at Westwood we love to take the opportunity in worship services to welcome, pray for and offer thanks to God for the life of a child through Child Dedication.

Parents who are dedicating children for the first time at Westwood are strongly encouraged to attend this one-time, one-hour informational class that helps explain what Child Dedication is in our setting.

Fourth Sunday of Each Month

At Westwood, Child Dedication happens during regular worship services, generally on the fourth Sunday of each month. This is a formal, special way to give thanks to God for the precious gifts of a child He has bestowed upon us.


Choir and Orchestra Christmas Concert Rehearsals

Warm up your vocal chords or dust off your instrument case and come share your musical talents in the Westwood Choir and Orchestra. We would love to have you join us this season as we prepare for the Christmas Concerts on Friday, November 30 and Saturday, December 1!

New Team Seeks to Serve the Vision for Evangelism at Westwood.

Do you have a heart for sharing your faith or would you like to grow in this area?   We have a number of Westwood attenders who are passionate about communicating Christ’s love in public and in personal situations.  Several have come together to form a leadership team in this area to serve our fellowship and better equip us to reach out at home, in our neighborhood, at school or work or wherever we might be.  If you would like to learn from those who are doing it, our team would love to hear from you.

Family Movie Night
Saturday, February 16, 3:00-5:00pm, at Chanhassen Campus

Join us for a fun afternoon event for the whole family! We'll be showing a movie on the big screen, popcorn and crafts too. Families will get a movie-themed devotional to take home.


Food Pack 2019
Friday and Saturday, February 22 and 23 at Chanhassen Campus

Pack food for people in developing countries such as Malawi and Mozambique. Last year, over 1,000 people packed more than 250,000 meals. Feed My Starving Children will join us again as our packing partner. This is a great event for your family or small group.

GriefShare
Mondays, October 1–November 26, 7:00–8:30pm, Room A205 at Chanhassen Campus

Grief isn’t meant to be experienced alone. Join us for a Christ-centered support group for individuals experiencing grief from the loss of a loved one. The start each meeting includes a video teaching and discussion. We’ll then separate into a small group that identifies your specific type of loss (parent, spouse, child or friend) and offer personal reflection, group interaction and encouragement to one another. Group Connect
Saturday, February 2, 9:00am–11:30am, Room A111 at Chanhassen Campus

Whether you are new to this small group thing or have been a part of groups in the past, we want to help you on your way. Group Connect is a gathering where you can meet people in your same life stage or part of town and form common ground to start a small group. We will have some breakfast, laugh while we play a few games and get to know each other on a deeper level. You will leave with information on how your group will operate after that. Childcare will be available.

Hope for the Holidays Gift Donations - Chanhassen
Sundays, November 18th, November 25th, and December 2nd (before and after all worship services)

Be a blessing to local families in need this Christmas season by donating a gift. Simply pick up a gift tag beginning November 18 in the lower level link area at the Chanhassen Campus. Purchase the gift listed on the tag and return it with the gift tag attached by December 2. Gifts will be distributed to several organizations including CAP and Cornerstone.


Hope for the Holidays Gift Donations - Minnetonka

Hope for the Holidays is the annual Christmas gift drive to bless local families in need. Beginning Sunday, November 18, you can pick up a gift tag with a gift suggestion from the Minnetonka campus. Return the gift with the tag attached by Sunday, December 2. Gifts will be distributed to several organizations including CAP and Cornerstone.


HSM Wednesdays - High School Ministry (Grades 10-12)
Wednesdays, September 12–May 15, 8:00–9:30pm, Woodside Room at Chanhassen Campus

Life is a journey, and students in grades 9-12 are beginning to understand what that means. Some may desire to grow in their relationships with Jesus, others are just trying to figure out who God is and wonder if faith is real. Regardless of where they may find themselves, they are welcome at High School Ministry. Students are taught, challenged and encouraged through dynamic large group experiences and intimate small group time.


Kids Creative Arts Fall Programming (grades 3 - 12) - Skits & Worship Teams

Students can develop their creative talents and gifts as they are placed on teams that will lead worship and perform skits during our Kids Ministry programming on Sunday mornings.  You tell us what works for your child's availability.

Westwood’s Kids Creative Arts are designed to prepare kids & students grades K-12th for a lifetime of serving and glorifying God by helping them develop their musical & artistic gifts.

Kids & Students will prepare to sing 2-3 musical selections in our Westwood Christmas Concert with a live orchestra AND guest artist Jason Gray!!!  This will be an amazing opportunity!  The Choir & Orchestra Christmas Concert is November 30th & December 1st.



Kids Creative Arts Skits & Worship

Kids Creative Arts Skits & Worship will be preparing teams of students to lead worship and perform skits in Kids Ministry on Sunday mornings. These teams will rotate approximately once per month.

Westwood’s Kids Creative Arts programs are designed to prepare kids grades K-12 for a lifetime of serving and glorifying God by helping them to develop their musical and artistic gifts. Kids Creative Arts Spring musical registration begins on January 2. Performance is Saturday, April 13.


Life Transformed: Learning to Live Like Jesus

Life Transformed is a four-week experience that will equip you, encourage you and challenge you to grow in your faith. It will also be a catalyst to help you get involved at Westwood. If you have not yet taken a step of involvement beyond worshipping on Sunday, or if you’re looking for a new start, Life Transformed is for you. Childcare is provided.

Marriage Course
Mondays, January 14-February 25, 6:30-8:30pm at The Outpost Center

The Marriage Course will help you strengthen your marriage. Topics covered include: Recognizing each other’s needs, learning to communicate effectively, resolving conflict, healing past hurts, knowing how to make each other feel loved, the impact of family past and present, good sex, making time for each other and having fun together. There is no group discussion and no requirement to disclose anything about your relationship to anyone else.

Moms Connect Morning - Fall 2018-Spring 2019

Moms Connect brings mothers of school age kids (K-12) together as a community that can share, laugh and go through life as a mom. We are focused on topics that strengthen our hearts and build relationships. Registration will open in early August.

MOPS Evening (Mothers of Preschoolers)
One Thursday per month, October 11-May 9, 6:30–8:30pm, Room A112 at Chanhassen Campus

MOPS Evening is a gathering for women who have children birth-age 5. We meet approximately monthly Oct-May, Thursday evenings 6:30-8:30pm for encouragement, topical conversation, prayer and community. Childcare is not provided. Registration opens early August. Scholarships available.

MOPS Morning (Mothers of Preschoolers)
Every other Thursday, September 13–May 9, 9:30–11:30am, Room A112 at Chanhassen Campus

Mothers of Preschoolers (MOPS) is open to moms who have at least one child age 5 and younger. We celebrate motherhood by encouraging one another, learning from relevant speakers and connecting in friendship within a small group. Raising kids is beautiful and hard, we need others to journey within it. Childcare is available at an additional fee.

Registration opens early August. Scholarships available.

There will also be a ton of other activities for everyone! Students are welcome and encouraged to invite a friend. 



Parenting Conference
Saturday, January 19, 9:00am-3:00pm at Chanhassen Campus

Whether your are dealing with diapers or diplomas, you'll be encouraged and equipped with our parenting conference. Keynote speaker Jim Candy will focus on developing faith in kids and students. Choose from relevant topics for the breakout sessions. Options include marriage, discipline, hard conversations, launching into adulthood, tech healthy kids, help for new parents and mental health.


Parents Night Out - Minnetonka

Parents,
Do you need a date night or some free time to do Christmas shopping?  Well, do we have a gift for you.  Bring your kids (3 - 12 years old) to The Warehouse/Student Space and some very capable and excited Kids Ministry Volunteers will watch your child(ren) for the evening.

We like to do business with establishments in Minnetonka, so Toppers Pizza will supply dinner and we'll have beverages and a yummy desert.

Our 8th and 9th grade students will spend the year gaining a basic understanding of the Christian faith, being challenged in a very personal way to understand what they believe and why and making their faith their own. It’s a year of fun experiences and spiritual growth as they embark on a journey of deeper life and faith in Jesus. 

We will meet twice per month, October 14 through April 14, on Sunday afternoons from 3:00-5:00pm.



Upper Room (Grades 8 & 9) - Minnetonka

If you are an Upper Room student, we will see you at this event! We will be working on leadership, team building, building up the body of Christ! This will provide fun and first-hand training for these important concepts.


Women's Bible Study, Winter AM

God of Creation - Genesis 1-11, Jen Wilkin

Why are we here? Why is the world so broken? How can that brokenness be made right? The first 11 chapters of Genesis address our deepest questions. Join us as trace the themes of creation, fall, redemption, and restoration, searching these familiar passages for their larger meaning in the story of Scripture and in the life of every believer. Online registration opens November 5.

Wednesday Morning Childcare:
A childcare program is offered for children, birth through age 3 for women participating in Bible Study on Wednesday morning. Each child must be registered online by January 23. Childcare space is limited and fills quickly. Cost: $30 per child. Childcare fees are non-refundable..

Because in this journey of joy and hardship, we need each other to stay the course and live a life of faithfulness.

Join us as we seek to understand the unique life gifts, spiritual gifts, personality types, values and passions that God has placed within our hearts.  

Wednesday Morning Childcare
A childcare program is offered for children, birth through age 3, of women participating in Bible Study on Wednesday morning. The mission of the program is to provide loving, quality care and biblical teaching for children in a secure, Christ-centered environment. Each child must be registered online by the Sept 19. Childcare space is limited and fills quickly. Cost: $30 per child. Childcare fees are non-refundable.



Women's Holiday Dessert
November 12, 13 and 14, 7:00pm at Chanhassen Campus

The Women’s Holiday Dessert is a time for women to come together to celebrate the coming Christmas season. It’s a time of friendship, encouragement, inspiring music and of course, decadent desserts. Speaker is Polly Patrick and there will be music from Tonia Hughes Kendrick. This is a great event to invite friends and family who might not have a church home. You’ll leave with your heart encouraged and prepared for the most wonderful time of the year. Learn more.
