10 Minute Party! (Grades 9–12)
Sundays, following the 11:00 service at Chanhassen Campus

All high school students (incoming 9th-12th grade) are invited to join Kari and other Upper Room students/leaders at the 11:00am service. We sit in the back of the Worship Center, behind the sound booth and stay after for the “10 Minute Party” to discuss the message and how it applies to our life. Sit with us in the service or just join us for the party after. Students will not meet on November 26, December 24 and 31, and April 1, 2018.

Baptism Celebration
Sunday, June 24, 6:30pm at Lake Minnetonka, Excelsior Commons

Declare your faith publicly with baptism. We will meet in the Excelsior Commons. Make an evening of it and enjoy some lawn games following the baptism and bring your own picnic dinner.

If you have a child or middle school student who is interested in being baptized, please sign them up for one of our baptism classes.  After attending the class, you will set up a one on one appointment for them to share their faith with a Next Generation pastor prior to baptism. At least one parent is encouraged to attend with their child or student.


Biblical Recovery Support Group

This group is based on the 12 Steps and is open to anyone desiring help with any type of addiction. 


Bush Lake Prayer Gatherings

Child Dedication Information Class

Babies bring so much joy to the life of a family and, whether through birth or adoption, the arrival of a little one is certainly cause to celebrate! Here at Westwood we love to take the opportunity in worship services to welcome, pray for and offer thanks to God for the life of a child through Child Dedication.Parents who are dedicating children for the first time at Westwood are strongly encouraged to attend this one-time, one-hour informational class that helps explain what Child Dedication is in our setting.


Child Dedication Service

At Westwood, Child Dedication happens during regular worship services, generally on the fourth Sunday of each month. This is a formal, special way to give thanks to God for the precious gifts of a child He has bestowed upon us.


College Ministry
Thursdays, Starting May 31, 7:00pm, Woodside Room at Chanhassen Campus

College Ministry is launching Thursday, May 31st! This program is for young adults, ages 17-25. We will meet every Thursday throughout the summer in the Woodside Room to experience worship and teaching together. Fun events and activities will take place in the summer as well.


Colorado: Mission//Adventure Trip (Grade 9)
July 21-29, 2018

Ninth grade students (going into 10th grade in the fall) will embark on a nine day mission & adventure trip to Fraser, Colorado and experience a trip unlike anything you’ve experienced before. Serving the camp and city around us, adventuring in Colorado, and celebrating all God has done this year is only a flavor of the fun we will have and the memories you will never forget. Family Backyard Cookout

There is nothing better than a backyard party! Join us for lawn games, food and a bonfire.


Family Day at the Beach
Thursday, June 14, 10:00am-1:00pm at Lake Minnetonka Regional Park

Join us at Lake Minnetonka Regional Park for a day at the beach. It will be a great time to just be together and get to know other families. Bring your own picnic lunch. The Kids Ministry Team will arrive early to save a few umbrellas!


Haiti Mission Trip Prayer Team

This team will pray for an upcoming student mission trip to Haiti.


High School Summer Camp (Grades 9-12)
August 10–12

Upper Room (grade 9) and High School Ministry (grades 10-12) are heading north to Big Sandy Camp in McGregor, MN. We will have a weekend filled with amazing activities, worship, and messages to close out the summer together. This will be a weekend that will set the pace for the 2018-19 school year ahead, and students will not want to miss out on what God will do in them and through them this weekend.

Malawi Mission Trip and Prayer Team
June, 2018

In June, a team will be heading to the Chitipa District of Malawi, Africa. This team will be working with local World Relief staff to provide pastoral training, teach children’s leaders and work on business development with local men and women.


Middle School Ministry Mission Experience (All Campuses Invited)
Thursday, June 21-Sunday, June 24, 8:20am-4:30pm

This year’s Missions Experience is serving in Minneapolis. We are partnering with Cru Inner City to provide students with a day camp experience where they will learn and serve those right in our back yard. We have the opportunity to serve in places like soup kitchens, thrift stores, and food shelves. Students will be dropped off in the morning at Westwood, take a bus downtown and return back to Westwood each afternoon. On Sunday, we will have the opportunity for students and parents to attend a worship service at a partner church downtown for a concluding missions experience.

Middle School Summer Camp (Grades 6–8)
August 13–17

Summer camp is typically a highlight for our students. This year we are heading to Big Sandy Camp and Retreat Center in McGregor, Minnesota, where we will focus on our faith and have a ton of fun! It is going to be a great week!

Middle school students are welcome to join us for games, mixers, discussion groups and fun. Our message each week is based on the sermon message.


Minnetonka Sunday Service Time Change
Sundays, Beginning May 27

Starting on May 27th, Westwood Minnetonka will be moving to their summer schedule.  There will be one service on Sundays at 10:00am.


Moms Connect Fall 2017-Spring 2018
Every Other Friday, September 22-May 18, 2018, 9:30-11:30am, Room A111 at Chanhassen Campus

Moms Connect brings mothers of school age kids (K-12) together as a community that can share, laugh and go through life as a mom. We are focused on topics that strengthen our hearts and build relationships. This year we will be finding ways to make lemonade out of the lemons. 


MOPS Morning (Mothers of Preschoolers)
Every other Thursday, September 14–May 17, 9:30–11:30am, Room A112 at Chanhassen Campus

MOPS is open to moms who have at least one child age 5 or younger. At MOPS, we celebrate motherhood. We build circles of women who love each other like family, because raising humans is beautiful and hard. We are currently taking names to be placed on a wait list. Contact Julie Slater to be placed on the wait list.

MSM Summer Fun Day

Middle School Ministry from Chanhassen and Minnetonka campuses will spend the afternoon together playing games, swimming in Lake Minnetonka, soaking up the sunshine and eating. Drop off and pick up at the Excelsior Commons (135 Lake St, Excelsior, MN 55331).


MSM Wild Mountain Waterpark Day

Middle School Ministry is going to Wild Mountain Waterpark to enjoy unlimited water slides, go-karts, alpine slides, a lazy river and endless fun. You won’t want to miss this day of fun with your friends!

Come join us for a Minnesota summer evening of fun featuring an unusual game of mini golf, dinner and ice cream!  We'll start with dinner at 5:00pm in Wayzata (location is TBD).  We'll head over to Big Stone Mini Golf in Minnetrista (7100 County Road 110, Minnetrista) and then find a place for ice cream.  Email us to get all the details and alternate plans if there is inclement weather.

Come join us at a private estate on Lake Minnetonka for a day of fun. We'll play get-to-know you games, go for a pontoon boat ride, play lawn games, tennis (bring your own equipment) and have a picnic dinner.

You need to be preregistered to attend this event (no walk-ins), you can register via email at the contact below.  Pay at the door. Brats, burgers and water provided. Bring a chair, towel and a dish to share based on the first letter of your last name:  A-E:dessert, F-I:appetizer or snack, J-N:chips, O-Z: side dish or salad.

God created us to be in relationship with each other. Great things happen in genuine Christian friendship. We are encouraged, supported, challenged, and so much more. If you sense God prompting you to lead this kind of community, we have training available online that will help you prepare.  After you complete the training, you will be provided with coaching from our Small Group Ministry Team to walk alongside you and answer any questions you may have about leading a small group.

Stop the Trafficking 5K Walk/Run for Justice
Saturday, June 9, 8:30am - 12:00pm at Purgatory Creek Park, Eden Prairie; race day registration starts at 7:30am

Stop the Trafficking is a collaborative event to raise awareness about human trafficking. Human trafficking is a form of modern-day slavery where people profit from the control and exploitation of others. It is considered one of the fastest growing criminal industries in the world. The goal of this 5K Walk/Run for Justice is to come together as a community, raise awareness and engage in the fight to end trafficking.

All proceeds from the race will be designated to organizations working to help sexually exploited youth and women. Westwood is proud to partner with other churches and local organizations for this event. Registration is available at www.stopthetraffickingrun.com

Team World Vision

Team World Vision is a community of people helping each other get to the finish line of Twin Cities Marathon while changing lives in Africa. We’d love you to join our 2018 team. Training starts in the beginning of April and group runs will be on Saturday mornings at 7:00am.

Women's Bible Study, Summer 2018
Wednesdays, July 25–August 22, 9:30-11:00am, Room A112 at Chanhassen Campus

Come join us for a delightful women’s 5 week summer study of our Apostle Paul’s First letter to the Corinthians called, First Corinthians Living Love When We Disagree by Melissa Spoelstra (Ps. wife, mother, author) about conflict and divisions. We’ll learn what the Bible says about handling differences with humility and grace while always showing the love of Jesus Christ. Sign-up starts 4/16. Please note, no childcare for the summer study.
