10 Minute Party! (grades 6-8)
Sundays, May 28-September 3, following the 9:30am service, Minnetonka Campus

All middle school students (incoming 6th-8th grade) are invited to join Lucas and other group leaders right after the 9:30am service. We’ll meet in the back of the Minnetonka Worship Center, near the doors, for the “10 Minute Party” to discuss the message and how it applies to our life. There will be no meeting on July 2.

2nd Annual All-Church Picnic, Minnetonka Campus

Blood Drive With American Red Cross

The American Red Cross is anticipating an 80,000+ unit/pint blood shortfall this summer. You can make a difference! Care with the Love of Jesus Christ
Tuesdays, September 19–October 24, 6:30–8:30pm, Room B118

Discover effective ways to carry the love of Christ into painful circumstances at home or work. This six-week interactive training explores God's call to care and how to recognize and respond to the hurting people we encounter everyday. Topics include: listening, feelings, boundaries, grief and loss, and prayer.


Central Africa Trip
June of 2017

The Central Africa team is looking for new members who have a heart to reach Africa for Christ. This is a ministry and economic development team focused on central African countries—with Malawi as the principle focus. The team is currently planning a June 2017 trip to Malawi.

At Westwood, Child Dedication happens during regular worship services, generally on the fourth Sunday of each month. This is a formal, special way to give thanks to God for the precious gifts of a child He has bestowed upon us.


College Ministry

College Ministry is for young adults, ages 17-25. We will meet every Thursday throughout the summer in Woodside Room to experience worship and teaching together. Fun events and activities will take place in the summer as well.


Colorado Summer Camp (Grades 10-12)
Sunday, July 16-Saturday, July 22; Buena Vista, CO

Campers start out the morning with breakfast followed by worship and personal time with God. In the mid-morning, there is a camp-wide activity followed by lunch. Afternoon events range from white water rafting, camp-wide games, low and high ropes courses, hikes up the mountain, swimming in the hot springs pool, and more. Campers enjoy dinner as a large group and head right into the evening session of stage games, large group games, worship, message, and then close the night with cabin time.


Day at the Lake (grades 6-8)

Join us for go swimming at Lake Ann (1456 W 78th St, Chanhassen). Please bring money for  snacks and boat/canoe rentals if you want. Please wear modest swimwear. You can find swimsuit guidelines on the student page of our website.

Ending Slavery On Lake Volta—IJM Field Director Kaign Christy

Thousands of young boys are forced to work as slaves in the massive fishing industry on Ghana’s Lake Volta. Come hear International Justice Mission’s Kaign Christy discuss the situation on Lake Volta and share the important work that IJM is doing to rescue the boys and bring the slave owners to justice.


Group Connect

Whether you are new to this small group thing or have been a part of groups in the past, we want to help you on your way. Group Connect is a gathering where you can meet people in your same life stage or part of town, and form common ground to start a small group. We will have some breakfast, laugh while we play a few games and get to know each other on a deeper level. You will leave with information on how your group will operate after that. Childcare will be available.


High School Summer Hangs

Come join other high school students as we spend time together the last few Wednesdays in the summer. We will hang for the first part of the night and then worship and hear a message together the second half of the night.


Hype Summer Camp (grades 6-8)
Sunday, July 23-Friday, July 28; Long Prairie, MN

Summer camp is the highlight of our summer in middle school ministry for incoming 6th–8th grade students. Students and leaders begin and end each day with a biblical message, and they book-end the day with group worship and cabin time to help students dig deep in their faith. Every day is also packed full of fun group activities and games. Students will also have an opportunity to experience all the lake beauty camp offers during structured free time. Our hope is that students will have a ton of fun but will also grow in their relationship with Jesus Christ.


International Student Outreach
April–September 2017

Did you know the world is coming to your backyard this summer? International students will be working in the Chanhassen/Excelsior area from April through September, and International Student Outreach (ISO) offers simple and short-term opportunities to make a difference in these students’ lives.

Tuesday Morning Childcare  
A childcare program is offered for children age birth through Kindergarten, to women participating in Bible Study on Tuesday morning. The mission of the program is to provide loving, quality care and biblical teaching for children in a secure, Christ-centered environment. Each child must be registered online by the September 12th deadline.
Childcare space is limited and fills quickly. Cost: $30 per child. Childcare fees are non-refundable.


Marriage Course
Mondays, October 2-November 13, 6:30-8:30pm, The Outpost in Chaska

The Marriage Course gives married couples the tools to build a strong and healthy marriage that lasts a lifetime. Over seven evenings spent together, couples talk with each other about issues that are often avoided in the rush of daily life. Information night: Monday September 18, 7:00-8:30pm at The Outpost. Men’s League: A Morning with Tom Lehman

Middle School Mini Golf & FroYo (Grades 6-8), Chanhassen Campus
Wednesday, June 28, 2:00–5:00pm, Centennial Lakes and Cherry Berry, Edina

We will have some fun playing mini golf at Centennial Lakes in Edina. Following fun in the sun, we'll head to Cherry Berry for frozen yogurt. Send money with your student for mini golf and frozen yogurt. The cost for mini golf is $10 per person. Drop off your student at Centennial Lakes Park (7499 France Ave S, Edina) and pick up your student at Cherry Berry (7509 France Ave S, Edina).


Middle School Sunday Ministry (Grades 6-8)

Middle school students are welcome to join us for games, mixers, discussion groups and fun. Our message each week is based on the sermon message. There will be no meeting on July 2.


Mission Trip to Thailand
January 2018

This ministry trip will serve missionaries by caring for their children so they can attend their yearly growth and refreshment conference. This is an excellent way to become introduced to a Westwood mission trip as well as bless missionaries who are on retreat from difficult ministry assignments all over Asia.


Mission Trip to the Middle East
Fall 2017

The Middle East Ministry Team and the Medical Missions Team are partnering again to organize a trip to the Middle East in the Fall of 2017. We are forming a Traveling Team and a Home Team to help refugees with their medical and spiritual needs.


Moms Connect Fall 2017-Spring 2018
Every Other Friday, September 22-May 18, 2018, 9:30-11:30am, Room A111

Moms Connect brings mothers of school age kids (K-12) together as a community that can share, laugh and go through life as a mom. We are focused on topics that strengthen our hearts and build relationships. This year we will be finding ways to make lemonade out of the lemons. Season runs September 22, 2017 through May 18, 2018.

Westwood Minnetonka is sponsoring a rest stop at the Tour de Tonka. Volunteers are needed for this fun, community event. This is a great way to encourage and support racers.


Unite Summer Camp (Grade 9)
Monday, July 10-Saturday, July 15; Green Lake, WI

Incoming 9th grade students travel by coach bus to beautiful Green Lake, Wisconsin for a week of fun. Students experience skits, worship, teaching, and other popular elements in the chapel twice daily. Ample small group time is allowed for processing what God is doing and challenging each other. And of course, there is an endless number of things to do – waterfront activities, tubing, tie-dye, spelling bees, 9 square, archery, volleyball, soccer, basketball, and so much more. We have reached our current maximum capacity; however, please add your student to the waitlist at no charge, so that  we can work with the camp to request an additional spot for him or her. We will follow up with you to get your student registered if the camp can accommodate our request.

Vacation Bible School

At VBS Maker Fun Factory, kids become hands-on inventors who will discover that they are lovingly created by God and built for a purpose! Open to kids 4 years old to those just finishing 4th grade. We need many volunteers to make this program a success. Let us know if you can volunteer to help. (Must be 14 years of age or older or accompanied by a parent if younger.)

You’ll hear a bit about our 20-year history, current ministry opportunities and take a peek at our plans for the future. Most importantly, we want to help you find a comfortable next step in your journey following Christ. Your kids are welcome to be a part of Kids’ programs (birth–grade 5) while you attend.



Women's Bible Study, Fall 2017 (AM)
Tuesdays, September 12–November 7, 9:30–11:30am, Woodside Room

This study on the Sermon on the Mount by Jen Wilkin offers us the opportunity to come and learn from Jesus, just as his disciples did. As Jesus utters some to he most familiar passages in all of Scripture, we'll be challenged to think differently about what it means to be a follower of Jesus. We will study Scripture with three levels of understanding: comprehension, interpretation and application.
Tuesday Morning Childcare
A childcare program is offered for children age birth through Kindergarten, to women participating in Bible Study on Tuesday morning. The mission of the program is to provide loving, quality care and biblical teaching for children in a secure, Christ-centered environment. Each child must be registered online by the September 12th deadline. Childcare space is limited and fills quickly.
Cost:  $30 per child. Childcare fees are non-refundable.

Wednesdays, June 28-July 26, 9:30-11:00am, Woodside Room

Explore what it would have been like to grow up in Jesus’ home and in His community. Join us for this casual 5-week summer Bible study on Wednesday mornings, as Karen Kingsbury shares a combination of storytelling and the study of Scripture so we can see ourselves in the lives of those who lived in flesh with our King. Childcare is not offered for this session. 


Young Adults Worship in the Park
Friday, July 14, 6:30-8:00pm, Lake Ann

Join us at Lake Ann for food, hang time and worship. Bring a canned food item for a food donation for the Hope House, the shelter for homeless teens. If you have any questions, feel free to contact Zac Bush.
