10 Minute Party! (grades 6-8)
Sundays, May 28-September 3, following the 9:30am service, Minnetonka Campus

All middle school students (incoming 6th-8th grade) are invited to join Lucas and other group leaders right after the 9:30am service. We’ll meet in the back of the Minnetonka Worship Center, near the doors, for the “10 Minute Party” to discuss the message and how it applies to our life.

All high school students (incoming 9th-12th grade) are invited to join Kari and other Upper Room students/leaders at the 11:00am service. We sit in the back of the Worship Center, behind the sound booth and stay after for the “10 Minute Party” to discuss the message and how it applies to our life. Sit with us in the service or just join us for the party after. There will be no meeting on July 2.


Adoptive Moms - Coffee & Connect
Second Thursday of Each Month, June 30-December 15, 7:00 - 8:00pm, Room A205

If you are an adoptive mom or going through the process of adoption, this group is for you! We’ll get to know each other over coffee or tea and share a short devotion. This group will meet once a month, but there’s no requirement to come every month. Contact Kim to register. The November 9 meeting will take place in the Prairie Room.

Baptism Class & Appointment - Kids & Middle School Students (age 9-14), Minnetonka Campus

This class is for children (age 9-14) to prepare them for baptism on September 10. Kids must complete both a baptism class and appointment prior to being baptized. At least one parent must attend the class with their child.


Care with the Love of Jesus Christ
Tuesdays, September 19–October 24, 6:30–8:30pm, Room B118

Discover effective ways to carry the love of Christ into painful circumstances at home or work. This six-week interactive training explores God's call to care and how to recognize and respond to the hurting people we encounter everyday. Topics include: listening, feelings, boundaries, grief and loss, and prayer. Registration opens August 7.


Child Dedication Information Class
Sunday, August 27, 9:30–10:30am, Room A205

The arrival of a little one is certainly cause to celebrate! We love to take the opportunity in worship services to welcome, pray for and offer thanks to God for the life of a child through Child Dedication. Parents who are dedicating children for the first time at Westwood are strongly encouraged to attend this one-time, one-hour informational class that helps explain what Child Dedication is in our setting.


Child Dedication Service
Fourth Sunday of each month

At Westwood, Child Dedication happens during regular worship services, generally on the fourth Sunday of each month. This is a formal, special way to give thanks to God for the precious gifts of a child He has bestowed upon us.


College Ministry
Thursdays, through August 17, 7:00pm, Woodside Room

College Ministry is for young adults, ages 17-25. We will meet every Thursday throughout the summer in Woodside Room to experience worship and teaching together. Fun events and activities will take place in the summer as well.


Day at the Lake (grades 6-8)
Wednesday, August 9, 12:30 - 4:30pm, Lake Ann Beach

Join us for go swimming at Lake Ann (1456 W 78th St, Chanhassen). Please bring money for  snacks and boat/canoe rentals if you want. Please wear modest swimwear. You can find swimsuit guidelines on the student page of our website.


Group Connect
Saturday, October 28, 9:00am–11:30am, Woodside Room

Whether you are new to this small group thing or have been a part of groups in the past, we want to help you on your way. Group Connect is a gathering where you can meet people in your same life stage or part of town, and form common ground to start a small group. We will have some breakfast, laugh while we play a few games and get to know each other on a deeper level. You will leave with information on how your group will operate after that. Childcare will be available.


High School Ministry (Grades 10-12)

Life is a journey, and students in grades 10-12 are beginning to understand what that means. Some may desire to grow in their relationships with Jesus, others are just trying to figure out who God is and wonder if faith is real. Regardless of where they may find themselves, they are welcome at HSM. Students are taught, challenged and encouraged through dynamic large group experiences and intimate small group time.


High School Summer Hangs
Wednesday, July 26 and August 2, 9, 16 and 23, 6:30-8:30pm, Room A111, Chanhassen Campus

Come join other high school students as we spend time together the last few Wednesdays in the summer. We will hang for the first part of the night and then worship and hear a message together the second half of the night.


International Student Outreach
April–September 2017

Did you know the world is coming to your backyard this summer? International students will be working in the Chanhassen/Excelsior area from April through September, and International Student Outreach (ISO) offers simple and short-term opportunities to make a difference in these students’ lives.


Kids Creative Arts—Early Elementary Christmas Musical
Sunday Evenings, September 10–December 10, 5:00pm-6:05pm in B102

Younger Elementary kids (K-2nd) will grow their creative talents as they learn to worship through singing and acting by rehearsing an exciting musical that will bring the Christmas Story to life!  Parents and families can enjoy the performance on Saturday, November 18 at 11:00am.

Launch for Parents
Thursdays, September 28–November 16, 7:00–8:30pm, Room B100

Many young adults are facing challenges that have delayed their ability to be launched into adulthood. Launch is a support and learning group for parents of adult children (18-30 years) who are struggling to make a healthy and productive transition into adulthood. You will gain tools, knowledge and support.


Life Transformed
Sundays, October 1–22, 10:30am–12:30pm in A205

This fall we launch this brand new, four week experience that will equip you, encourage you and challenge you to grow in your faith. Life Transformed will also be a catalyst to help you get involved at Westwood. If you have not yet taken a step of involvement beyond worshiping on Sunday, or if you’re looking for a new start, Life Transformed is for you. Romans 12:2 is our foundation: Do not be conformed to the pattern of this word, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will. Join us to discover what living a Life Transformed is all about!

Marriage Course

The Marriage Course gives married couples the tools to build a strong and healthy marriage that lasts a lifetime. Over seven evenings spent together, couples talk with each other about issues that are often avoided in the rush of daily life. Information night: Monday September 18, 7:00-8:30pm at The Outpost. Membership Seminar

Become a member of Westwood. Membership has many benefits including being able to share your voice on key issues regarding the church. You will learn about values, mission and beliefs of the church and get all your questions answered from leaders and staff.


Men's Bible Study

Join us for a study on Joseph, an epic story of a boy becoming a man and dreams coming true in the most unexpected ways. The study will include a video lesson, discussion and weekly questions.


Middle School Lunch with Lucas (grades 6-8), Minnetonka Campus

All middle school students are invited to lunch with Lucas at Davanni's  (15200 MN-7, Minnetonka). Drop off students around 11:00am–11:30am and pick them up around 12:30pm–1:00pm. Please send your student with money for lunch. Contact Lucas (lucas.hansen@westwoodcc.org) for any questions.


Middle School Mini-Golf & Froyo, (grades 6-8) Minnetonka Campus

Middle School Ministry (Grades 6–8)

Middle School Ministry, 'MSM', is for students grades 6–8. Students have fun and make great friends through large group and small group time. They are free to ask questions, challenge answers and experience Jesus Christ personally. And, we have a lot of fun! 


Middle School Pizza Party (grades 6-8), Minnetonka Campus
Sunday, June 25-Sunday August 27, 11:00am - 12:30pm, Minnetonka Gym

The last Sunday of every month we will be having a Pizza Party after the 10 Min Party. We will be playing games and pizza will be provided for the students. Parents can pick up students at 12:30pm at the Minnetonka gym. The dates of the Pizza Parties are June 25, July 30, August 27.


Middle School Sunday Ministry (Grades 6-8)
Sundays, 11:00am-12:00pm, Room A111, Chanhassen Campus

Middle school students are welcome to join us for games, mixers, discussion groups and fun. Our message each week is based on the sermon message.


Mission Trip to Thailand
January 2018

This ministry trip will serve missionaries by caring for their children so they can attend their yearly growth and refreshment conference. This is an excellent way to become introduced to a Westwood mission trip as well as bless missionaries who are on retreat from difficult ministry assignments all over Asia.


Mission Trip to the Middle East
Fall 2017

The Middle East Ministry Team and the Medical Missions Team are partnering again to organize a trip to the Middle East in the Fall of 2017. We are forming a Traveling Team and a Home Team to help refugees with their medical and spiritual needs.


Moms Connect Fall 2017-Spring 2018
Every Other Friday, September 22-May 18, 2018, 9:30-11:30am, Room A111

Moms Connect brings mothers of school age kids (K-12) together as a community that can share, laugh and go through life as a mom. We are focused on topics that strengthen our hearts and build relationships. This year we will be finding ways to make lemonade out of the lemons. 


Monday Night Prayer Gathering

Would you like someone to pray for you? Westwood Prayer Team members are available to pray with individuals from 6:00–7:00pm every Monday night (except Holidays or when the building is closed). Everyone is welcome.


MOPS Evening (Mothers of Preschoolers)

Prayer Shawl Ministry
Monday, September 18, 7:00–8:30pm, Upper Level Link

Our Prayer Shawl Ministry gathers on the third Monday of the month to knit, crotchet, pray and visit. We make shawls for the pastors, prayer teams and individuals to gift to people who are need of comfort. Anyone is welcome to join us, whether you can knit and crotchet, or if you want to learn how. Yarn is provided. Please bring size 13 or 15 knitting needles or size N-13 or P-15 crotchet hook.


Singles 40s-60s DVD & Book Study—Real Relationships
Sundays, September 10-October 22, 6:30-8:30 pm, Room A111

In this study, we'll dig below the surface to the depths of human interactions and get advice and practical tools for improving relationships. We'll share a meal together first and then break out into small groups. Books and workbook materials will be handed out on the first night of the study. If you like, join us first for the 5:00pm service. We sit on the right side tiered seats, second row up, near the center.


Singles 40s-60s Pot Luck and Bonfire
Saturday, September 30, 6:00–10:00pm at Lake Minnewashta Regional Park

We'll have a pot luck dinner, play some get-to-know you games and then have campfire desserts (provided) while we warm up near a toasty bonfire. Bring a dish based on the first letter of your last name: A-H: Main Dish, I-N: Side Dish (potato/pasta salad, baked beans, green salad, etc.), O-S: rolls or chips, T-Z: Appetizer. Bring your own campfire chair. $13 if preregistered by September 27. (Park entrance fee is provided if preregistered)  Walk ins: $15 + park entrance fee.

Join us for rafting, kayaking or canoeing at Cannon Falls Canoe and Bike Rental (615 N 5th St, Cannon Falls) at 1:00pm.  We’ll stop and play along the way (squirt guns accepted!)  Then we’ll go across the street for picnic dinner. Join us on select Sundays during the summer as we dig deeper into the message, connect with other Christian singles and enjoy a picnic dinner in the great outdoors. Join us for the 5:00pm service if you wish or you can join us at the park. Bring your dinner, Bible and a lawn chair. We'll meet rain or shine since the picnic area is covered.

Transformational Leadership: Foundations

Grow in your leadership skills, both inside Westwood and outside. Formerly called Passport to leadership, this class is led by Westwood leaders.  You will learn the 4R biblical model of leadership, a practical transformational leadership philosophy that can transform your teams. This class is brought to you by the Wellspring Transformational Leadership Team.


Upper Room (Grade 9) Chanhassen Campus
Wednesdays, September 13–May 9, 8:00–9:30pm, Room A111

Upper Room is a place for 9th graders to belong, have fun and grow deeper in their faith. Students spend the year gaining a basic understanding of the Christian faith, being challenged in a very personal way to understand what they believe and why, and making their faith their own. It’s a year of fun experiences and spiritual growth as they embark on a journey of deeper life and faith in Jesus. 



Upper Room Bonfire & Game Night (Grade 9)

Wheelers 12th Annual Car Show
Saturday, August 26, 9:00am – 12:00pm, Westwood Chanhassen Lower Level Parking Lot

The annual Wheelers Car Show a great family event. You are bound to see cars that take you back to when you were a kid as well as highly modified cars to wow your whole family. If you own an interesting car – that ’64 Mustang convertible, early 1920s vintage, or even a new SLK, Maserati or Ferrari, bring it to the show for display. You might just win a trophy. You can register to show your car right at the event. Food is available for purchase.


Women's Bible Study, Fall 2017 (AM)

This study on the Sermon on the Mount by Jen Wilkin offers us the opportunity to come and learn from Jesus, just as his disciples did. As Jesus utters some to he most familiar passages in all of Scripture, we'll be challenged to think differently about what it means to be a follower of Jesus. We will study Scripture with three levels of understanding: comprehension, interpretation and application.
Tuesday Morning Childcare
A childcare program is offered for children age birth through Kindergarten, to women participating in Bible Study on Tuesday morning. The mission of the program is to provide loving, quality care and biblical teaching for children in a secure, Christ-centered environment. Each child must be registered online Cost:  $30 per child. Childcare fees are non-refundable.
