We had a great time at Hype this past June! With beautiful weather, over 140 students and leaders played outside, enjoyed lake activities and grew in friendships. Our theme was “Small Stories, Big Ideas” as we looked at parables of Jesus and applied the big idea from the short story to our lives. Students asked thought-provoking questions during cabin time, prayed with and for each other, and spent time with God during “TAG” time (Time Alone with God). We also had a ton of fun during free time and large group games such as slip n’ slide, kickball and capture the flag. God met our students at camp and it’s evident that it’s a week that marks their spiritual journey. Check out the video for a recap of Hype 2014!

Next Sunday, October 26, following the Sunday evening service, Westwood will host a highly anticipated, one evening seminar on how Christians can try to make sense of what is happening in the Middle East. Led by Reuben David, long-time associate and team member of Dr. Don Bierle and FaithSearch International, the seminar will look at many of today’s current events in the Middle East and give insight into what the Christian response should be. A time of Q&A will follow the presentation.
