Important Summer Announcements

Vacation Bible School Praise!
Thanks to all who took part in making Pandamania a success!

• More than 750 kids attended!


• Over 400 amazing volunteers!


• The Great Wall of Panda Bear Prayer was literally covered with prayers from kids, teens and adults for their families, VBS, health and job concerns, the world around them, and praises for what God is doing in their lives!


• God inspired everyone at VBS to give over $6200 to disaster relief in Japan through Samaritan's Purse!


• Many prayed for Jesus to be their Forever Friend for the first time!


• More than 40 churches were represented, with many people bringing unchurched friends and family for the first time to hear the Gospel!


• God reminded everyone that He is WILD about each of us!

Summer Sunday School
Summer Sunday School is in session, and we want to give our best to God and His kids! If you are currently serving for Sunday School, prayerfully consider continuing weekends in the summer. If you have not served with kids before, this is a great time to give us a try! With little to no prep and everything provided, we make it easy. Use your gifts of service to help, teach or coach a small group. Contact Danise McMillen, 952-224-7342 for more information about how YOU can make a Kingdom difference in the life of a child!

Program Structure Shift
On June 12th, we implemented a significant program structure shift impacting Student and Children's Ministry. Current 5th and 6th grade students have moved into Xchange. Current 8th grade students have moved into Upper Room. Current 9th grade students have moved into En Route. Below is a list of times and rooms for these groups. Please note grades listed below are those which students will be entering in the fall of 2011.

Westwood is a great place to be a kid! It’s a place where kids begin to discover their great big God and the world He created for them. A place where faith, learning and imagination go hand in hand. Faith comes alive as kids experience age-specific learning through exciting story-telling that is biblically-based, interactive music that gets kids moving and hands-on crafts that reinforce key Bible concepts with a creative twist!
 
Westwood is a friendly place where kids feel welcome, where they connect with one another, as well as with caring adult and youth leaders who help them to understand who Jesus is and how much He loves them!

Westwood is also a safe place, where children’s leaders are screened and well trained. We are committed to provide a secure, nurturing environment for all the children entrusted to us. Fellowship One identifies those authorized by parents to pick a child up at dismissal time, as well as recording any special needs a child may have. It offers moms and dads the added confidence of knowing their special youngster is receiving excellent care (Click here for more information on Fellowship One).
