Hi! I’m Jayson Wade, the director of 5th and 6th grade ministries here at Westwood. If you’re looking for a place for your child to have fun while building a more solid foundation in Christ – CrossRoads, our ministry created entirely for students in grades 5 and 6 could be a great fit for your family.
Why call it CrossRoads? Because we believe that students entering into 5th and 6th grade are at a critical point in their lives as they grow and begin becoming who they will one day be. We are a ministry committed to meeting students in the midst of their journey and helping them to make decisions that will form their faith and character for years to come. At CrossRoads, our goal is to build students up into genuine followers of Jesus Christ while experiencing the fun of fellowship and the power of relationships. We are passionate about investing in the lives of young people, especially as they reach such an important juncture in their lives. We offer Sunday programming and monthly events that are geared towards creating an environment tailor made for 5th and 6th graders. Between game time teams, praise and worship, engaging talks, small group discussion, and trips to water parks and corn mazes, CrossRoads is a program that may have your child excited about Sundays.
Worried about your child getting lost in the shuffle of another large youth group? Don’t be. While our group is large and fun-loving, a great focus of our ministry team is building personal relationships. We are committed to connecting students with other students as well as adult and high school role models through small groups that will build friendship and foster an open and honest environment where real life issues can be discussed.
