The purpose of Westwood Community Church is to honor God by enjoying Him through reaching people with the love of Jesus Christ.
Westwood Vision Statement
We demonstrate God’s love in creative and compelling ways that lead people to know God, worship Him authentically, grow spiritually, serve joyfully and connect relationally. We are a community with open hands, receiving from God all He wants to give, believing He wants to give us a lot. And with open hands we give it away, believing we cannot out-give God.

Our purpose and vision exist because:

Our Guiding Principles
The purpose, vision and values of Westwood provide the motivation to minister. A number of principles, driven by our values, guide our behaviors and provide the basis for the manner in which Westwood ministers. Every ministry at Westwood embodies one or more of these principles.
We are:
Bible Centered We are biblically focused …believing the Word of God is relevant, living and active, shaping what we believe and how we live.
Community BuildersWe make our resources accessible to the community…believing that God wants to use both our lives and our facilities.
Spirit Dependent We rely on the Holy Spirit to empower our words and actions ... recognizing that life-change happens only with His involvement.
Home Oriented We embrace our homes as a vital extension of the church.
Loving We desire that loving relationships permeate every aspect of church life - knowing that this pleases God and transforms people.
Partners We pursue partnership opportunities with other individuals or organizations…knowing we can do more together than we can alone.
Prayerful We pray…recognizing our humble dependence on God is expressed through prayer.
Compassionate We will be compassionate to those in need….and assist in God’s resource of refuge and provision.
Missional We introduce people to Jesus Christ…passionately motivated by the truth that He is the hope of the world.
Welcoming We welcome and receive all people…knowing that all people matter to God.
Servants We equip people to serve sacrificially with great joy…imitating Christ’s servanthood for the church.
Stewards We carefully manage God’s resources…knowing that He entrusted them to us for His work.
Worshippers We worship God in Spirit and Truth…realizing its centrality to our relationship with Him.
