Membership

We'd be delighted for you to consider joining Westwood as a member. Membership is a covenant of support and friendship between a local congregation and an indivudal. 

As a church we commit to:

  • Help you know God better and grow in your faith by providing relevant, biblically based messages, Bible studies, classes and other growth experiences
  • Provide opportunities for creative and compelling worship of God
  • Provide opportunities and environments for you to connect with other believers
  • Provide opportunities for you to serve others in the congregation, in the community and around the world
  • Provide prayer and support when you are experiencing difficulty
  • Equip you to make a difference and be a spiritual encouragement to others as you share with them the love of God.

Here's what we ask of you:

  • That you know God through faith in Jesus Christ. That a personal relationship exists between God and the applicant, that stems from the step of faith they have taken through confessing to God their sinful nature and by God’s grace receiving forgiveness.
  • That you regularly participate in worshiping God authentically at Westwood Community Church.
  • That you grow spiritually by participating in personal and corporate opportunities for learning and growing in your relationship with God through Jesus Christ, and directing your lifestyle to the likeness of Christ.
  • That you serve joyfully by being involved in purposeful and joyful service through Westwood’s opportunities for ministry.
  • That you seek opportunities that help you connect relationally with God and others.
  • That you support and invest in the purpose and vision of Westwood Community Church by giving of your time, financial resources, abilities and gifts.
  • That you live out the Westwood Covenant in your life and practices.

As members we covenant together...
Based upon our purpose, we do covenant together by God’s grace, to live our lives consistent with the standards of biblical teaching; including the support of this local ministry in attendance, prayer, service, and giving, by living lives in word and deed that are an encouragement to others to know and be like Jesus Christ, and by reflecting in all our relationships the servant-love of our Lord.

Thursday, August 23 & 30, 7:00-8:30pm
Saturday, October 6, 8:30-12:00pm
Membership seminars are offered throughout the year. Participants learn about the values, mission and beliefs of Westwood Community Church. You'll meet others from Westwood and leave understanding how Westwood observes communion, baptism and child dedications but, more importantly, you'll catch a taste of what makes Westwood Community Church such a special place.
